Solstice

Like a river
Like a river
Like a river
Like a river
Like a river
Like a river

Shut your mouth and run me like a river
How do you fall in love?
Harder than a bullet could hit you
How do we fall apart?
Faster than a hair pin trigger
Don’t you say, don’t you say it, don’t say
Don’t you say it, one breath and it’ll just break it
So shut your mouth and run me like a river

There is power in creation
There is strength in women finding beauty together
There is love in a story

I loved creating this Utah editorial shoot with Amber Reverie and Sophie Kynaston at the Great Salt Lake. I'm in awe of their beauty and strength. The sun set early behind a cloud, robbing us of the late golden light that we were chasing. But how can I regret that, when I found inspiration in the darkness instead.

Women's Branding Photography for Interior Design | Cynthia Fuessel

My dear friend Cynthia is one of those people who walk in sunshine. She's been my friend through some of the very hardest times of my life, and she will always give you her complete attention. She loves her family, she loves her friends, and she genuinely cares about people. It's a gift that she has, listening and loving.

But one of my favorite things about her, is that she went back to school, after her babies were born, and tirelessly pursued her dreams. Sometimes it's the smallest things that push us into our path, and just letting go of the fear that we aren't capable/worthy/talented enough. One picture on Humans of New York, with the line...I wasn't lucky enough to have ever found what I wanted to do. Don't get me wrong--I did nicely. But I never found my passion."

She's days away from her Interior Design Degree, Designing for Sage Homes, and generally conquering the world. I want to photograph all women like this. Women who run the world, with grace and kindness, and leave everyone a little bit better for it. Even better is women who lift up other women and focus on community over competition. So proud of you Cyndo!
